Eremo di Saint-Julien
Clavalité Valley, wedged among Cogne Valley and Champorcher Valley, is wild and little anthropized. It opens on a spectacular plain dominated by the Pyramid of Mt. Tersiva.
Among the several paths, locally present, the one leading to Saint-Julien Hermitage is definitely the most interessing and typical. Built onto a rock wall and known to have been assiduosly visited by pilgrims in former times, this hidden site takes its name from San Giuliano who, according to legend, was flung into the void by Roman soldiers. If you are looking for somewhere to find peace and inner calm, there is nowhere better than this isolated hermitage in Pieiller Combe, surrounded by total silence.
