Parks and Mining Museum

Situated in a prestigious natural and environmental setting, Servette Mining Area offers visitors the chance to discover how pyrite, chalcopyrite (and millstones) were mined throughout history from Roman times, the Middle Ages, 18th century up to modern times. The mine shafts, watchman’s quarters, miners’ shelter, forge, powder magazine, detonator store, Tréves foundry and the systems employed to move minerals and slag are all open to public viewing.

An evocative interactive and multimedia display set up in Viviminiera Information Centre located in Saint-Marcel Town Hall provides visitors in-depth information about the mining site.
